About the
Spiraea - Snowmound :
The Snowmound Spirea, Spiraea nipponica,
is an excellent dwarf shrub, with dense dark
green foliage and masses of pure white
flowers in May. Great for use as a
foundation plant, in the shrub border or in
a garden situation.
Prune in the early spring before growth
starts if shaping is needed and then again
after the flowers are done blooming. This
deciduous shrub prefers full sun to partial
shade. It does best in well-drained soil
with moderate to high levels of moisture.
Prune older stems to the ground to thin and
rejuvenate.
